Love Feast with Jenny Carpenter

Jenny Carpenter is a local preacher, a former vice-president, a trustee at Epworth Old Rectory (vice-chair, in fact) and until 2018, was secretary to the trustees at the New Room too. She sounds a really interesting person, and we look forward to meeting her! She lives in Sheffield and recently met Rev. Patricia Williams at the Methodist Heritage "Telling Our Story" day at Oxford. They even talked about Winchelsea Methodist Chapel! She says, "I have had experience of Moravian lovefeasts as well as Methodist and ecumenical ones and can certainly share something of the history of the lovefeast. As you will be aware, the lovefeast is primarily an opportunity for those attending to give brief testimonies to their own experience of the love of God, in a fellowship of prayer and praise." She is coming by train so let's hope that the weather in mid-February is kind and that we can all learn something about this interesting and historic form of Methodist worship.
